How It Works

The Lead Follow-Up Engine monitors prospect behavior across your website and marketing channels. When a lead takes a specific action, the system selects and sends a contextually relevant follow-up. Standard leads receive automated sequences without manual intervention. High-intent signals such as pricing page visits or demo page views route to rep review for personalized outreach.

Step-by-Step Flow

1

Define your lead segments and the behavioral triggers for each

2

Build or configure message sequences for each trigger type

3

System monitors behavior in real time and queues follow-ups automatically

4

Standard leads receive automated sequences without manual intervention

5

High-intent signals route to rep review for personalized outreach

6

Engagement data feeds back to optimize send timing and message performance

Best For

  • Marketing teams with leads that go cold between content downloads and sales conversations
  • Companies running inbound content programs that are not converting at expected rates
  • Businesses where the CRM shows leads but sales is not following up consistently

Implementation Notes

Behavioral data comes from your marketing automation platform (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, ActiveCampaign) or website tracking via Segment or a custom pixel. Trigger events include: form submission, content download, pricing page visit, specific page visit sequence such as product page then pricing page, email open plus link click, and webinar attendance. Each trigger maps to a configured sequence: a series of 2 to 5 messages with configurable delays (typically 2, 5, and 10 days), personalization tokens pulled from the CRM, and content recommendations pulled from a content library tagged by topic and funnel stage. The system acts autonomously for all standard triggers: no human approval required for pre-configured sequences. High-intent signals (pricing page visit, demo request abandoned, or an account from a named target list performing any qualifying action) generate a Slack alert to the assigned rep with context and a suggested personal follow-up message for human-sent outreach. Send time optimization uses per-contact historical engagement data when available, otherwise defaulting to empirically optimized time windows by industry. Unsubscribes and bounces are handled automatically with CRM sync. Prerequisites: a marketing automation platform with behavioral tracking and a library of at least five content pieces for sequence inclusion.
