The SOP Builder
Turns how your best people work into documented processes anyone can follow
How It Works
The SOP Builder conducts structured capture sessions where team members describe their workflows in their own words. The AI asks clarifying questions, extracts the step-by-step process, and drafts a formatted SOP. A subject matter expert reviews, edits, and approves the draft. Approved SOPs publish to your knowledge base and are reviewed for updates on a defined schedule.

Implementation Notes
Capture sessions run via a Slack bot, a web form, or a structured Google Form that guides the team member through a standardized description protocol. The protocol collects: process name and objective, inputs required to begin, step-by-step actions with decision points noted, common exceptions and how to handle them, tools used at each step, and success criteria. The AI facilitates the session by asking one clarifying question per step when the description is ambiguous. The full transcript and responses convert to a draft SOP in a defined format: objective, prerequisites, step-by-step with numbered steps and sub-steps, exception handling, and related documents. Subject matter expert reviews via Google Docs or Notion with comment-based collaboration. Approved SOPs publish with version history, author attribution, and a scheduled review date (default 90 days). An automated reminder pings the SOP owner 7 days before the review date with a link to the document and a one-click confirm-as-current option. SOPs integrate with the Knowledge Neuron blueprint for instant retrieval by team members. Average time from capture session to approved SOP is typically under 45 minutes of team member time. Prerequisites: a target list of processes to document and a designated knowledge base platform.
